The shocks and struts on your Honda, Acura, Lexus, Toyota or Scion wear out and can cause problems for you and your car. Shocks play a very important role in your car’s suspension system. As time goes by, shocks and struts wear out. When they wear, they become less effective at doing their job.
Shocks and struts can wear out slowly over time and you wouldn’t even notice it. But here’s how you can tell if they are worn:
- You notice leaking coming from the shock or strut.
- Your tires are wearing in an uneven or cupping pattern.
- When you press on the brake to stop, the car dips and comes up more significantly.
- When you make turns the car kind of floats and isn’t as responsive as it once was.
If you’re not sure about your car’s shocks or struts, next time you’re in the shop, just ask. We can review our records and take a look at the wear of yours to determine if you’re ready for replacements.
