Car horns are unique because they are the background soundtrack for many cities around the world. Below is a glimpse of the history of the car horn and its modernization over the years. Before there were interstates, in a period of horseless carriages – drivers used bells, whistles, and even hand-squeezed horns to notify pedestrians and other drivers of their presence. It wasn’t until 1908 that young inventor Miller Reese Hutchison patented the Klaxon Horn. Hutchinson, who also worked alongside Thomas Edison, created two versions of his Klaxon Horn. According to MoparMagazine, one version of the horn was motor-powered with batteries, and the other was manual with a small hand crank. I would like to communicate to our RM Automotive Family that we have been and will continue to take our customers and employee health, safety and well-being with the HIGHEST priority as we conduct business as usual. Our working hours remain the same and we would like to share what we are doing in order to keep everyone safe: 1. We are disinfecting our common areas and surfaces routinely throughout the day. 2. Specific areas of the interior of customer cars (door handle, steering wheel, shifter, directional, keyless start buttons and key remotes) are being disinfected when the car is dropped off and picked up at RM Automotive 3.
